Being on time

When you meet someone at an exact time and one of you arrives late, it is normal for the other person to get upset, at least that is how I see it. Being on time is not the worst issue to deal with since a lot of people always arrive later than the time they expected. It is just that there are some people who don't have notion of time and they are late unintentionally.

Of course, it is important to say that there are different contexts and situations. For example, you wanted to meet your friend at 7 p.m and you arrive at 7:15 p.m: I don't think there is a big problem with that, maybe the other person arrives five minutes earlier or late, but if you get there later by fifteen minutes, it is understable. On the other hand, you have to go to a doctor appointment at 12 p.m and you arrive at 2 p.m, two hours later, don't you think that it is an exaggerated amount of time? Actually, there are some who arrive even five hours later without any decent excuse.

Notwithstanding, there are a lot of excuses and situations that can happen to us and that can cause us to be late. First, you run out of hot water in the middle of a very cold winter and you take your time to heat water in the kitchen. Then, once you got that shower, you realize you're late so you start running to shorten the time lost and when you're picking your phone to call your friend and warn them, you fall down the stairs because they had recently mopped the floor and it's still wet. Finally, you break your leg and have to go to the hospital, but on your way in the ambulance you're phone dies by low battery so you can't warn anyone. In my opinion, that is a really unlucky person with a really understable excuse.

In conclusion, with all the problems and fears we have to face nowadays, it's not that important to arrive late somewhere, I don't think anyone would be so upset to stop being your friend. At least, not if you don't do it everyday or every time you meet them. However, it is important trying to be on time, because if you arrive late, there is less to spend with your beloved ones. Time is one of our most important and most underrated relics.
